# How can I change my vVO2max, especially if I start running again?

The **vVO2max (the speed at VO2max)** calculated by our algorithms is accurate in most cases, but it may vary depending on your performance profile.

For example, if a runner has a very strong 10K performance but a relatively weaker marathon performance, the model may identify a lower endurance level and therefore estimate a higher vVO2max. Similarly, if your current fitness level is significantly higher or lower than the performances entered in **My Past Races** (My Profile > My Running Experiences), the estimated vVO2max may not accurately reflect your current level.

To get a more accurate estimate of your vVO2max, **you can perform a [6-minute test](https://en.run-motion.com/calculate-your-mas-with-or-without-a-test/) and enter the result in your Running Experiences** (My Profile > My Running Experiences).

Simply run as far as possible for **6 minutes**, then enter the distance covered.

For example, if you cover **1,500 metres in 6 minutes**, this corresponds to a speed of **15 km/h**. If you cover **1,200 metres**, it corresponds to **12 km/h**.

If you know your current fitness level well, you can also enter a fictitious 6-minute test result to set the value you want.

You can find more information about [estimating your vVO2max with a 6-minute test here](https://en.run-motion.com/calculate-your-mas-with-or-without-a-test/).

You can also **change your vVO2max directly in My Profile > My Physiological Data > Change my vVO2max**.
