How to automatically change the title and description of my session on Strava?
You love training with RunMotion and want to share your preparation with your close ones?
Tired of having to manually change your sessions on Strava? You want a customized, more fun title than the classic “Running” that really matches what you did?
Good news: with RunMotion Coach, you can automate modifying the title and description on Strava for the session you completed: your Strava activity is directly renamed with the content of the session you just did. We’ll explain step by step how to do it.
🎯 Why automatically customize your Strava sessions?
- To save time: no need to manually edit each session anymore.
- To keep a clear record of your workouts according to your plan (e.g. “Threshold 4×5min”, “Run/hike 1h30”).
🔗 Prerequisite: correctly set up the import of your Strava activities into your RunMotion account
- Open your RunMotion Coach app,
- Go to your Profile by tapping your profile picture (menu at bottom of screen, icon at bottom right),
- Go to “Settings” via the link at the bottom of the page,
- Then tap “Connect a tracking app”,
- Select “Strava",
- Tap “Connect” and follow the validation steps. Make sure to grant all permissions if you want to be able to automatically modify your session.
⚙️ Activate the automatic modification option (title and/or description) or export PPG sessions
You can do this while setting up the Strava connection, or at any later time. You can stop, restart or adjust automatic modifications of your Strava sessions as you like. To do this, after the previous steps, in the Strava connection screen:
- Tick the following 3 boxes: "Edit activity title on Strava"; "Edit activity description on Strava" and "Create activity on Strava after a PPG session".
- Validate!
And voilà 🎉
From now on, every time you link a session from your training plan with a performed activity (Strava directly or via watch connection), RunMotion Coach adds a clear title and a description that recalls the session’s objective.
You don’t have to tick all the boxes. If you only want to change the activity title, then tick only that box 😉
🔄 Can I still manually edit later on Strava?
Yes of course! Even if RunMotion adds a default title and description, you can re-edit them at any time from the Strava app (or on the web), as you usually would.
