How to automatically change the title and description of my session on Strava?
You love training with RunMotion and want to share your journey with friends and family?
Tired of manually editing your sessions on Strava? Want a personalized, more fun title than the classic "Run" that actually matches the session you did?
Good news: with RunMotion Coach, you can automate the editing of the title and description of your completed Strava session: your Strava activity is directly renamed with the content of the session you completed.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to show you how.
🎯 Why automatically customize your Strava sessions?
- To save time: no more manual edits for each session.
- To keep a clear record of your workouts according to your plan (e.g.: "Threshold 4x5min", "Hike/Run 1h30").
🔗 Prerequisite: properly configure the import of your Strava activities to your RunMotion account
- Open your RunMotion Coach App and go to your Profile by tapping your profile picture (bottom menu, icon at the bottom right),
- Go to your plan settings via the My RunMotion tab,
- Then tap "Connect a tracking app",
- Select "Strava",
- Configure the automatic edits you want and tap "Connect" if not already done.
- Follow the connection steps...
- and accept the permissions! Make sure to grant all permissions if you want to be able to automatically modify your session.
⚙️ Activate the automatic editing option (title and/or description) or PPG session export
You can do this step while connecting to Strava or anytime you want. You can stop, restart or adjust the automatic modification of your Strava sessions as you wish. To do so, after the previous steps, in the Strava connection screen:
- At step 5️⃣: check the following 3 boxes: "Edit activity title on Strava"; "Edit activity description on Strava" and "Create a Strava activity after a strength and conditioning session".
- And confirm using the green check mark at the top right of the screen!
And that’s it 🎉!
Now, each time you link a training session from your plan with a completed activity (on Strava directly or through your watch connection), RunMotion Coach adds a clear title and a description that reminds you of the session’s goal.
You don’t have to check all boxes. If you only want to edit the activity title, just check that box 😉
he cross (9️⃣) allows you to close the screen but does not remove the connection you just set up.
🔟: You can import your last 50 Strava activities.
And if you’re unsure which connection is active, you can see it in your plan settings (11).
🔄 Can I still manually edit on Strava afterwards?
Yes of course! Even though RunMotion adds a default title and description, you can edit them anytime from the Strava app (or on the web), just like you’re used to.
